Good evening,
Earlier this evening, we were made aware of a potential threat that, based on initial findings, appears to be part of the recent "swatting" hoaxes in the area. At this time, our investigation in collaboration with local law enforcement indicates that the threat is NOT CREDIBLE. However, out of an abundance of caution, we will have an increased law enforcement presence in our district tomorrow morning. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. While the investigation suggests no real danger, we are taking every precaution to ensure everyone feels safe and secure.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

Good afternoon. Due to the complexity of having multiple roads and bridges closed in the district, the Summer Reading Program is canceled for its last week. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. This is ONLY for the Summer Reading Program. The Extended School Year (ESY) program for our special education students will operate this week.

Last minute tips for today's eclipse: during the eclipse, there is no time when it is safe to look directly at the sun without using ISO certified filters, except during the short time of totality (if you are in an area that has totality). Do not use your cell phone camera to view the eclipse for it is not filtered properly. Do not use damaged solar glasses (scratched, torn, etc.). Please take the necessary precautions to protect your eyesight. Have a great day today and enjoy the eclipse.

At last night's board meeting, it was decided to give Monday, April 8th as a snow give back day. It is also the day of the total solar eclipse and this will allow parents, kids, and staff to participate in the viewing if they would like. The county and surrounding areas are expected to see record travel with thousands of people coming to the area or traveling through.
We have eclipse glasses for all the students and will be delivering them to the classrooms sometime this month. Cross your fingers for a sunny day that day.

Tom
